Here are three old videos showing a young Dizzie Gillespie talking about his music and its relationship with the Baha’i Faith:
The above was recorded at the Baha’i Caribbean Conference held in 1971. At around that time the Panama temple was being constructed. In the video you might also recognize a young Jim Seals lobbing the soft-ball question for Dizzy.
Within only two years of this conference, the duo of Seals & Crofts (Jimmy Seals and Dash Crofts), would go on to become top selling musicians with chart topping hits like “Diamond Girl” and “Summer Breeze”.
