Several Baha’i Documents & Speeches

One of the readers of this blog, Farhan Yazdani, was kind enough to share these after another person requested them in a discussion.

I took the liberty of putting them in this format since it offers more flexibility. You can read it as is, send it to a friend, embed it into your site or blog, or download it.

Thank you Baquia for posting these all in one place as a service to the on-line community. I have previously read all of them except for the “Clarification Compilation” which is quite interesting as a psychological study worthy of C.G. Jung and ten years of solitude..

When reading Peter Khan I always try to remember that the depth psychology is always him basically talking to an empty room in his own mind. It is really quite touching. Every time I read one of his speeches I want to dress as a Roman Catholic Priest and introduce him to the audience. The camera shot for the monologue on the world-wide broadcast is always over his shoulder to the empty room. You could intercut some shots taken from the back of the hall onto the podium for cinematic variation. Use some odd and disorienting Hitchcock camera angles too. It is always a psychological hall of mirrors. The same is true for all of the members of the UHJ in their public speeches since the mid-1990′s. It is absolutely fascinating.

They are always talking to an “audience of one”: themselves. Alone. Every line is an amazing mea culpa psychological self-revelation of them seeking absolution and forgiveness at some deep level. With Peter Khan in all his addresses it is almost mathematical. There is a certain psychological geometry to it that always fascinates me. I think Peter Khan especially would be much better off psychologically as a Roman Catholic. Maybe as a Jesuit theologian. He could then finger one of those huge shiny metal crucifixes with one hand as he speaks. And that Jesuit collar would look good on him. I think this man would be much happier and much more fulfilled there. His endless breathless “codification of everything” insights are out of a previous World Age that is waning very fast. His insights are not out of the new one being born in the new planetary psyche.

I can’t think of any greater hell than having to spend eternity with Peter Khan and Shoghi Effendi in some kind of Swiss chalet hallucination. In such a situation I would try to start to teach both of them how to play blues guitar. A nice new Fretlight Guitar for each of them with the Stevie Ray Vaughn pro-instruction set.

It would be the only way I could stay sane for the first 100,000 years.

Again, these guys need to get out for dinner and a movie once every 40 years or so. Get out of the endless obsessive codified thought bubble. I would love to air drop this guy into the Amazon rain forest in the dead of night in a monsoon. I would get a feature film out of that. I would get a major motion picture out of this guy’s psyche being crushed when faced with a 3D representation of his own unmapped and unexplored inner mind set and losing his conventional and very convenient implicit assumptions about his place in the Cosmos.

I personally think that being elected to the UHJ should be a form of lifetime civil death in the future. Once you are on it or are retired from it you should NEVER be allowed to speak in public on ANY topic for ANY reason ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. EVER. PERIOD. Not even on one’s hobbies or if you saw a UFO while out alone one night. To speak on any topic to a captive Baha’i audience has the potential for too much damage to the Faith these passive-aggressive people supposedly “love” and reeks of their obsessive self seeking for self definition and is inimical to the best interests of the Faith. It only appeals to the immature sense of “cult of personality” idol worship of the weakest people in the current version of the Faith at the present time. I have been a Baha’i for 36 years and I am not interested in what any of them have to say about anything. They should serve, type into Microsoft word for their lifetime incumbency managing every breath in and every breath out for every member of the rank and file, and then disappear from the stage of history. Yes. Totally. Disappear. Never to be heard from again. that is what should be required as the price of service. Civil death.

To me the Baha’i Faith and the diverse growing and expanding communities of the new World Age are about a COSMIC STATE OF CONSCIOUSNESS. PERIOD. (The Spirit Symbol of the Maid of Heaven). It is not about any human personages of any kind including the Central Figures of the Faith or any other personages of any other Faith system. To see it on that low a level brings the terminal Divine Judgment of unoriginal blind knee jerk parroting of ideas, lack of profound inspiration and creativity, and eventual stagnation unto spiritual death.

    The same old, same old.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

We don’t need endless speeches on this planet anymore. Been there. Done that. We need silence.

I don’t know why, but this is a horrifyingly depressing sentence for me to imagine carrying out on someone. It sounds like a lifetime in solitary confinement.

Is it not a terrible statement about the state of the Bah??’? community that we should require such fading away of their authorities? It seems to me to reflect as much on the community’s mindless acceptance of authority as it does of that authority’s ability to capitalize on that mindless submission. It takes two to tango, and the Bah??’? community’s lust for paternalism is definitely as blameworthy as the UHJ member’s lust for control and formalisms.

I am not kidding you when I tell you I adore you. I went to many of Stevie’s concerts while he was alive and met his mother 12 years ago at a rally for his memory in Dallas. She held my oldest son when he was a baby and gave me so much advise for raising him. Her loving arms… What an awesome memory. Thank you SO MUCH. It’s hard to beat his passion for music and love for humanity. Lest we leave out his struggle to understand life on life’s terms. I AM SO HAPPY listing to link.

His last with his brother was something I keep close.

Why are my post “awaiting moderation”? Do I not belong here? Am I not welcome? If it is that I am not I will turn away and not return. It would bring me saddness to leave something that has finally brought me joy in the BF but I wholly believe I will not impose where I am not welcome.

In any event, I wish to say to Craig Parke it was a pleasure to meet your heart and wish for an opportunity to feel more of it if you are willing to share. It’s been a long time since I met a like mind.

    Bird,
nothing so melodramatic. The spam filter gets a bit enthusiastic sometimes. Farhan has also noticed this. As you know, I do not censor comments which contain an opinion that I don’t share. I’m only forced to do so when comments are vulgar, do not advance the discussion nor contain any redeeming qualities.

Well, I was going to give them guitar lessons in the next world and for free too. But OK. Maybe I was a little harsh. Maybe I got carried away. Peter Khan’s speeches seem to have that effect on me. I listen to him and get into a resonant Johnny-One-Note Habituated Response Totalitarian State of Mind too in the bleed over. I get a compulsion to go out and get a uniform somewhere. Maybe something Wehrmacht North Afrrica 1943. Suddenly I too succomb to visions of the trains running to the camps. But at least I didn’t recommend the “Mayan Symbolic King” solution. Give me credit on that!

The Mayans would have a Symbolic King that would go around and wave at everyone in regal mirror dress of the real Mayan King for a set term and eveyone would wave back. Kind of a Miss America Pagent contestant on steroids with a twist. The twist was that at the end of his term as Symbolic King he was executed. There had to be some profound depth psychology going on in all that mirrored waving. After all it was a society perhaps founded on the use of psychedelics as some now think. The Mayans can be thought of as truly one of the first totalitarian societies and this bio-chemical mind set brain chemistry really loves to execute people in droves as everyone witnessed in the 20th Century. There is truly something going on deep in the subconscious in this psychological exchange. In recent U.S. politics we seem to love executing people “politically” now all the time too. It seems to be all the rage now.

So let’s go with this solution instead. This is my new revised proposal: Once you have served on the UHJ and retired you get your own reality TV show 24/7/365! You get to speak to the ENTIRE WORLD on EVERY TOPIC under the Sun constantly to your world wide audience ALL THE TIME! This will be the VERY OPPOSITE of my “Civil Death” solution.

Huge world wide audiences will hang on every word and every Cosmic insight of these guys on what everyone on Earth MUST THINK at all times and what everyone on Earth MUST BE DOING at all times. Total exposure of every one of their stupendous Cosmic insights to everyone on Earth ALL THE TIME. Every conceivable subject will be covered. No one on Earth will be permitted to go out for “dinner and a movie” ANYWHERE on Earth EVER AGAIN as they breathlessly await “TOTAL GUIDANCE” on EVERYTHING that happens in THEIR LIVES. We’ll use all the new technology too. YouTube links. Video and audio pod cast. E-mail updates for new links from the latest episodes. But there is a twist.

This show will be on a new cable TV channel called “The Karma Channel”. The setup for every show will be the same. Since Glenford Mitchell is supposedly retiring next year we’ll start with him. In the first episode we’ll start with video of his post 911 speech where he says that in the use of the military power of the United States eveyone must “be quiet and let God do His work.” If there is no footage available we will do a “dramatic re-enactment” of the speech technique like they used to do on “America’s Most Wanted”. Maybe we can get Danzel Washington to play Glenford Mitchell in the “dramatic re-enactment” in the opening show? That should start the series with good ratings up front. Then try to keep the daily audience going forward.

After the establishing speech we cut to the theme of the show each week that “Karma Is a Bitch”. We have a panal of depth psychologists, historians, and various actors portraying various thinkers from world history in full costume. We have a brief studio discussion by the panal on the implicatios of these words. Then we cut to the camera crew following Glenford Mitchell 24/7. We’ll start with his triumphant return to his home from Haifa. Interview all his relatives and adoring friends. We will have a second camera crew visiting VA hospitals and interviewing veterans who tell of their experiences in war.

We can have one incisive episode in Iraq called “From Haifa to Haifa Street”. Interviews with veterans from the various running battles along Haifa Street in Baghdad over the last few years where ever they now are all over the world. We can move our cameras anywhere and always return to what Glenford Mitchell is doing now in his retirement. I am sure he will be speaking to many Baha’i audiences everywhere in the world that will hang on his every thought. We can interview various Baha’i audience members to get their thoughts too. We will have our cameras there and incorporate the footage into new and ever expanding topics in the show.

The show will document his slow descent into full blown massive Cosmic karma.

It will go on and on exploring various themes of the experience of war of many people.

In episode 3000 it will all mercifully come to an end with Glenford a broken man living under a bridge in the cold with hungary and ill homeless Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War I, Iraq, and Afghan veterans in up state New York somewhere. Someone will hand him a cigarette butt and a near empty bottle of Jack Daniels around a 50 gallon drum where they are burning trash to try to keep warm.

The CAMERA MOVES in and HOLDS on Glenford.

His eyes are glazed over. There is a distant unfocused confusion. Life is ebbing. The tide is going out.

    FREEZE FRAME.

    FADE TO BLACK.

    SUPER: KARMA IS A BITCH.

How’s this as my new proposal since you did not like the last one?

Off the subject and on to a new one, how was the term Covenant Breaker really allowed to be interpreted with the following example from Baha’u’llah, or deeper for that matter what the devastating cause and effect it’s labeling has created:

In the ?ar??z??t (Arabic: ????????) Bah??’u’ll??h reveals some of his teachings and exhortations. The Tablet is composed of six headings, each designating an ornament representing the characteristics that each person should obtain. Bah??’u’ll??h writes that truthfulness and sincerity are lacking in the world, and that corruption has spread. He also describes newspapers as the “mirror of the world” and delineates guidelines for the editorial staff.
    The ornaments are:
    1. That everyone should know oneself understand what characters leads to glory or poverty, and after he has understood this he should be active in a profession or craft that serves humankind. Bah??’u’ll??h singles out people who dedicate themselves to the education of others.
    2. That everyone should consort with the followers of all religions in a spirit of friendliness and fellowship.
    3. That everyone should strive to obtain a good character, especially justice and fairness.
    4. States that trustworthiness is the greatest character that leads to the security of the world.
    5. That people should not defile their tongues with the abuse of others.
    6. States that knowledge is a wondrous gift from God, and that everyone should try to acquire it.
Near the end of the Tablet, Bah??’u’ll??h writes to the B??b?s who didn’t accept his claim as He whom God shall make manifest and who instead followed Mirza Yahya, and tells them not to follow the promptings of their own selves and passions; he admonishes them lovingly to return to path of God. (He doesn’t call them CB’s here)

    KIT??B-I-AHD (Book of the Covenant)

ALTHOUGH the Realm of Glory hath none of the vanities of the world, yet within the treasury of trust and resignation We have bequeathed to Our heirs an excellent and priceless Heritage….

O ye My Branches! A mighty force, a consummate power lieth concealed in the world of being. Fix your gaze upon it and upon its unifying influence, and not upon the differences which appear from it…

(Isn’t this a big part of how the term CB started, feuding between the family?)

It is enjoined upon everyone to manifest love towards the Aghs??n, but God hath not granted them any right to the property of others.
O ye My Aghs??n, My Afn??n and My Kindred! We exhort you to fear God, to perform praiseworthy deeds and to do that which is meet and seemly and serveth to exalt your station. Verily I say, fear of God is the greatest commander that can render the Cause of God victorious, and the hosts which best befit this commander have ever been and are an upright character and pure and goodly deeds.

Say: O servants! Let not the means of order be made the cause of confusion and the instrument of union an occasion for discord. We fain would hope that the people of Bah?? may be guided by the blessed words: Say: all things are of God.’ This exalted utterance is like unto water for quenching the fire of hate and enmity which smouldereth within the hearts and breasts of men. By this single utterance contending peoples and kindreds will attain the light of true unity. Verily He speaketh the truth and leadeth the way. He is the All-Powerful, the Exalted, the Gracious.

It is incumbent upon everyone to show courtesy to, and have regard for the Aghs??n, that thereby the Cause of God may be glorified and His Word exalted. This injunction hath time and again been mentioned and recorded in the Holy Writ. Well is it with him who is enabled to achieve that which the Ordainer, the Ancient of Days hath prescribed for him. Ye are bidden moreover to respect the 223 members of the Holy Household, the Afn??n and the kindred.

-What happened to the respect to the family? Does anyone really know what they faught about? Is it not because of this that the BF suffers? Thought it would be a good conversation, the actual Will of Baha’u’llah?

Damn! That feels nice! As Leon Russell always used to say on the road: “Thanks! I can use the energy.”

Somehow I missed your above post and only found it tonight. My true love passed away in 2000, so this was quite nice. She was a very fine woman. “Thanks! I can use the energy.”

I am so happy you and I connected on the SRV link! I miss him so much. Wow! If your son was held as an infant by the Mother of the Great SRV he is blessed. May the Great Cosmic Mystical Insights of the Moveable Blues Scale Fret Boxes be upon him! thanks for that link in return!

If your son is ever interested in learning to play blues and rock and roll and totally shock his Mother with his skills there is no better teaching system then this:

Every person on Earth should get one and start to kick back and chill out with some major chops.

They have a factory seconds store on Ebay and you can sometimes get one with minor factory defects for $150-$200 off.

I have often toyed with writing a sci-fi film script where the “Manifestation” or “Divine teacher” in the future IS a world class rock musician and has to give the Divine Message for a new World Age purely in rock and roll! I would entirely base the character on Leon Russell who has come pretty close to doing just that.

For many years I would say the short Obligatory Prayer to myself at Noon and then sing “Prince of Peace Returning” or “Stranger In A Strange Land” in my mind with full percussion and bass for a little extra Cosmic treat. It was part of my ritual. Sometimes I would sing either song out loud as I walked around the cubes where I worked as a software engineer. I once got a standing ovation with clapping from everyone on my team and the teams around me. They just loved my version! I used to sing it in full rock effect in my band in the 70′s. Turn everything up to 10 on your amps and sing it out. Get the “Leon Live” album some time. It was recorded at the Long Beach Arena in August of 1972 I believe. This is the version of both songs I like. But the acoustic version of “Prince of Peace Returning” is very nice on the “Shelter People” album too.

I love this video on YouTube. It always cheers me up. I used to play a lot of Dylan when I was in an act called the “Folk Brothers” which was a take off on the “Blues Brothers” from SNL. Plus Rodger McGuinn looks much like my Grandfather as a young man in this version. So it always brings a smile to my face to think of my Grandfather rocking out somewhere in the Great Cosmic Beyond.

My business partner who lives in another country met Eric Clapton back in 1967 in London before he hit the big time. She was in awe of this person with no name when she got to hear him play acoustic at 6am in the morning when she was walking by and invited by some guys unloading their band’s truck and then going up to a nearby apartment for breakfast. He was just sitting there playing with an acoustic guitar. All sat in silence and just watched him play. It was the 60′s.

I’m glad you like the energy. I have a lot to give. It was nice remembering the day I met SRV’s mom. Here’s the backdrop.

VFW Biker rally, everyone is in black leather pants & jackets and I was invited by my friend who’s idea of a hot guy is determined by how many tattoo’s he has. She actually took me to get my first tattoo later that week (a small butterfly)

I go, dressed in camel color capri’s and a while button up blouse (I nursed my son and worn easy open shits at the time that were bleachable for sanitation purposes) and WE STUCK OUT…lol. All the other biker babies were in black like their parents with bottles in their mouth, mine had a boob… Noticeably the Grand Master of the event suggested for my own safety I sit up at the front table. I honestly didn’t know the woman I was sitting next to was Stevie’s mom until it was announced; a case of the right place at the right time.

I’ll share her words…We were both looking at my beautiful son and I admitted to her that I was scared, I was and still am not a very domesticate type. How did she do it? How did she live through his trials and tribulations? What did she do to put forth this amazing person who started as my son, her baby, and became a man for the world?

She said, â€?Bird- I raised my sons to make their own choices and I supported them in these choices even when I knew they were wrong, all you can do is raise him to make good choices and no matter what you do, don’t raise him to think he can not talk to you about anythingâ€? I asked, â€?Even when they are wrong? How can you do that?â€? “Because I love them and they are responsible for their life and choices, just teach him to be responsible for his choices….â€?.

I now have 3 sons. I have taken this woman’s advise since she gave it to me and I have 3 pretty great kids. Rascal tree climbing dirt rolling sparing roughens.

I have loved many people and have had the privilege with a few to tell them I really love them, a few even married. Just yesterday at a friends house for a BBQ, I hugged my good preacher friend and told his wife, I bet I can get away with being one of the only woman you know who can get away with telling you I am madly in love with your husband! Yes, Bird, you are right, you are the only one who can get away with it

So we do share in some great taste in music and musicians. All my son’s have electric guitars and a drum set (love the drums). We have flutes, trumpets & keyboards in my home for the boys. I enjoyed the youtube link with all the great hero’s of R&R but here is one for you that didn’t make it to the stage that day but shares a piece of my heart when I meet people with souls that animate the love in my heart, as you have. My girl Etta…

btw- Here is my email address incase you would like to exchange convo, not so open to the planet.

My Father just loved the great Etta James. For many years he had his own radio show where he played a lot of jazz. He used to get fan letters from women. My Mother just smiled!

If you already have electric guitars for your boys, I swear you MUST invest in ONE Fretlight guitar for them to share if any of them are serious. This is amazing stuff. Computer aided instruction for note by note SRV and Clapton when those instruction sets come out. Start with the computer teaching sets they already have. Get a factory second scratch and dent to save moeny.

Mom will drop dead in astonishment when one of them starts playing like John Mayer down in the basement.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m0UnlrEI9Y

One of them will get to that level of Chop City if they keep at it!

I guess John Mayer said it all. The only religion any of us have left now is that simple “Keep me where the Light is” with those amazing chops.

Hummm…there is that other important discussion going on on this site but things are different over on this thread…

This week is very tough at work, but when this is over you will hear from me in private! Since I have been in “Baha’i” Cyber Space for the last three years people have written to me from all over the world.

It seems that the ONLY people the Maid of Heaven has been talking with these days is the rockers. As my 86 year old Mother said two years ago when I took her to see Bob Dylan live and in person out under the stars when he came this way, “Only the poets and the rockers can save us now.”

Really after 36 years you feel this way? I understand if you feel frustration about something, but try and understand the reasons before letting your self become frustrated or angry. Ultimately these emotions come from a lack of understanding. This has always been the case for me personally.
I have not spoken too much about UFO's or species not from this planet to many bahai's to gauge the reaction or state that you claim. It is interesting that this topic in particular is mentioned.
Personally I have had many experiences relating to UFO or visitations from other planets. I continue to meditate on the significants of such experience and I try to relate these experiences to the bahai faith. I am a bahai.

Anyone care to comment on the significance of the evident visitations from other planets? I read from a non official web page that a quote claimed to be from a bahai text that claimed that beings from other planets were not of spirtual equal value or importance, or something that may convey a similar meaning.
I am yet to calculate this. I can not imagine this would be true at this stage either.

    Anyone?

  • Peter S.

There is nothing to suggest any belief that these beings would be of less value or importance. I can email you some scanned statements from the Research Department at the BWC re life on other planets. I created a yahoo email address and if you email me at carmthom9ATyahoo.com I'll be happy to share the PDF file with you. Sonja, you cannot simply select one example of portraits and use that to respresent the global output of Baha'i artists or to assert that there is somehow a dominant Ruhi art mentality. As you may be aware, Baha'i artist David Nuur recently won a prestigious prize in the Netherlands for installations which are a very far cry from those portraits. Another of many examples if former UHJ member Hooper Dunbar's art: http://hcd-art.net/index.htm . Bernard Leach and Mark Tobey (refer to their Wiki pages in Google) are examples of earlier Baha'i artists but there is just so much happening globally at present that I think your small sample can lead to highly misleading conclusions. The same thing applies to music as there is a lot of hip hop, rap, gospel, and other Baha'i inspired music which is very different from the Seals and Crofts kind of music I grew up with.
